Santorini

 8/16 - 8/24/21

Our place in Athens had a rooftop with a nice view of the Acropolis.

Then on to Santorini

Church near our hotel in Fira

And another one

And another one as you get close to Oia

I believe this is looking up towards Oia from Ammoudi Bay

We rented a car for a couple days. One day we ended up on the coast away from the caldera. The beach was very windy

We drove back to Oia for the afternoon to wander around.

Tourists are everywhere, even the roofs of churches.

Big church in downtown Oia

I hiked out to Skaros Rock for the sunset one evening

There is an old church at the end of the path with great sunset views

It is evidently popular with the Instagramers. There were a couple sets of what looked like newlyweds. The ladies were all dressed up and the men were taking cellphone shots. I did not want to look like a creepy old guy with a camera, but they kept getting in my shots so I took a couple photos with them as well.

I woke up early one morning to wander before the crowds appeared.
